Cloth diapering?

When I was pregnant with Susannah I thought a lot about maybe trying cloth diapers and now that she's here I'm really interested in trying them! Tho there are so many different kinds out there that I'm sort of at a lost to where to begin. I'm thinking that I only want to try one or two of a brand/type before I go and buy a bunch of the ones that I 'think' will work. I've been looking around and finding information on all the different types and how to use them, but some things I find confusing. Probably because I've only seen the white cloth diapers that I use for burp rags! ;-) I've found a sight online that has been helpful: http://allaboutclothdiapers.com/ So far I think that the all in one cloth diapers would be easiest! But then ha what do I know... I've never tried them! Anyone tried them and liked them? Which are your favorites?

Thanks for following my blog at http://lambytales.blogspot.com! My favorite of the stash that I have are the Kawaii one size cow print minkies. While they are a bit bulky on Baby Baa, they're so soft, inexpensive, waterproof, adjust to fit Lambkin and come with 2 inserts! Oh, and they have this little lip of fabric in the pocket part to help keep the insert contained inside the pocket and not poking out the back.

I really loved Bumgenius! The one size are the best because they snap to fit your baby. I prefer the snaps over the hook/loop closure because it last longer and seems to stay on better. Although they are spendy, if you add up the cost of disposables I think it's worth it! I would try just a couple before you buy a bunch first though. Unfortunately for us, our babies have really sensitive skin so we had to take breaks from using them because they caused rashes. I think though if you change often and wash them correctly most babies are fine with bumgenius. Anyway, just my thoughts...

I'll get in details of my likes/dislikes soon. Join diaperswappers.com for tons of info and good deals on diapers! For know I'll just say avoid micro fiber incerts! They are a pain to care for and can cause amonia burns on baby's bottom. If you are doing it for cost reasons, I'd also avoid the all in ones because they either take forever to line dry thus causeing you to need more of them to keep enough or they take a forever in the dryer causeing high electirc bills. I love our prefolds (NOT Gerber ones from WalMart - your burp colth ones!). Go to Bummis.com and check out their diapers and covers! Cheap, easy care, work very well, and cute to boot! ;-)
